Manson Kedge Anchor

Ideal for larger craft and specified by many of the worlds' finest Superyachts the Manson Kedge anchor is POOL N Type anchor and manufactured within exacting standards to exceed all certifying requirements.

Manufactured in both steel and stainless steel, these anchors perform exceptionally well on larger vessels. Traditionally stowed on either side of the bow on larger craft, these anchors are kept in one of the most visible parts on any vessel. They have been tested and proven all around the World.

Manson Kedge anchors are Lloyd's Register Type Approved as HHP (high holding power) anchors available in sizes from 50kg to 4500kg.

The Manson Plough Anchor

Originally designed in 1933, Plough anchors have been proven all over the world providing the best holding in the widest variety of weather and seabed conditions. The Plough's versatility and holding power in most circumstances will out perform all other types of anchors if set correctly.

Manson began manufacturing the Plough anchor in 1972 and the Manson Plough has now become Australasia's anchor of choice - synonomous with safe anchoring. It's built tough to withstand the rigors of the southern ocean, it's respected as the ideal all purpose anchor.

The Manson Plough is certified to Lloyds Register as a HHP (High Holding Power) anchor. This process involves design approval of the anchor drawings, extreme scrutinising of the manufacturing process and finally, seabed testing of the anchor in three different soil substrates.

The Manson Racer Anchor

The Manson Racer is the first anchor on the market specifically tailored for racing yachts of all sizes. This anchor is made from high tensile aluminium and has been fully welded and anodized ready for use. The Racer is an effective anchor with great weight saving potential. When bringing this anchor onto deck you can rest assured that it will be easier to handle when deploying because of its reduced weight.

The Manson Racers' hard wearing stability balls are designed to reduce the width of the lower balance bar. The balls are designed to encourage the anchor to set faster and resist rotation whilst embedded in the sea floor. Having a shorte r bar means the anchor is easier to stow in lockers or anchor wells. The balls serve a secondary purpose to help avoid damage to your vessel by the often sharp ends and edges of the bar. The black balls are made from a hardwearing and heat resistance plastic.

It comes in 12 different sizes depending on the yacht length and is considered a great option as a stern anchor. There is also an optional bag for the Racer. The Racer bag is padded, polyester lined and available in two sizes. It has two interior pockets, one for the anchor, one for the chain and rope.

The Manson Supreme Anchor

The Manson Supreme is available in stainless steel and galvanised. After 18 months of extensive research and development, Manson is proud to announce the next generation in anchor technology. The Manson Supreme.

The design brief given was to create the highest holding - fastest setting - fixed shank anchor in the world. A surprise bonus design feature was that the anchor was developed with a dual operation shank to enable use in rock and coral seabed types.

The anchor has been reviewed by Lloyds Register of Shipping and has received a SHHP status. The first and only production boat anchor in the world to do so.

A New Age in Anchoring Technology

There has been a revolution in anchoring technology. This started in 1999 with the release of the Spade at the Paris Boat Show where it won the prize for Best in Show. From there the new idealogy has moved throughout the world. The Spade worked on the premise that shaping the anchor in a concave design and utilising as much surface area would provide a much higher holding power of an anchor. The concept proved a winning one and derivations on the theme have subsequently formed. Not to be confused with Rocna anchors.

The theme has been further extended by the concept of maxinising the working area even more. This is achieved by substituting the lead in the tip of the anchor by a roll bar of only a couple of pounds/ kilograms in weight. Utilising high strength, high tensile steels in the construction has meant a reduction in steel thickness and yet another increase in working area.

The concave nature of the anchor is a relatively new concept. Both styles, concave and convex flukes have their merits and there has traditionally been hesitancy to use a concave shape. This was initially due to their inability to self right. The addition of the roll bar has completely removed this drawback and now this shape is an accepted anchor design.Not to be confused with Rocna anchors

The Manson Boss Anchor

The Manson family have proudly released the safest product to hit the anchor market yet; The Manson Boss. Your ultimate safety device has been designed to operate in all seabeds, a truly multipurpose anchor. The shank has also been specifically designed for powerboat bow roller conformity. The patented features, design nd robust construction make it set immediately and hold during the worst of conditions.

Shackle Preventor – one slot in the shank with two docking stations to enable you to use your anchor in all seabeds. The preventor quickly unscrews and docks on the alternate station to transform the anchor from a fixed shank to a sliding shank for operation in foul ground. The preventor is captive which means you cannot lose it.

Shank Optimisation – We have used FEA (finite element analysis) optimised for max strength and removed material that is not used, heance the hole in the shank. We used minimum 800mpa Lloyds certified high tensile steel. Shank clearance streamlined to conform to powerboat bowrollers.

Roller Flaps/Trim Flaps – Ensure the fastest set in even the most demanding seabed conditions. Raising the holding power by focing the flukes downward creating a minimum of 28% deeper setting than other new generation anchors.

Double reinforced nose – Focused nose biased tip weight concentration enabled by double thickness laminate layer (DTLL) technology for fastest set possible.
